Place Value Expanded Notation

We have been learning about place value and expanded notation. We started by using link cubes to make 10 trains and ones. Then, we used the ten trains to create our first initial.

 

After practicing with link cubes we moved on to base ten blocks and created multiple representations of numbers on foldables.

For some Fall fun we counted candy pumpkins and recorded how many tens and ones we had as well as our numbers of pumpkins written in expanded notation.
